“Bade Sir” as Mr. Nanu Gupta is fondly known, is the brain behind the electronics superstore – Vijay Sales. With a bare minimum capital of Rs.10, 000 and a heart filled with courage, Mr. Gupta began a journey to build an empire, brick by brick.
 

It was his sheer determination to succeed and devotion towards his guests that made a small store in Mahim, a household name. In time, the stores multiplied and transformed Vijay Sales into one of the most successful electronics retail chains across the country.

Like a true visionary, Mr. Nanu Gupta has the phenomenal ability to understand consumer behaviour. This skill, along with his bold decision-making abilities form the very foundation of Vijay Sales’ success story that has given this country a perfect place to shop for happiness.

It was in the year 1992 when Mr. Nanu Gupta introduced his son, Mr. Nilesh Gupta to the family business. With the knowledge he inherited from his father and powered by his strong educational background, Mr. Nilesh Gupta guided Vijay Sales and his father’s vision to new horizons.


His detailed understanding about product technicalities and approach towards the guests made sure that he upheld the Company’s long-standing philosophy of serving the guests with the best in quality and services.

 

With his talent and vision, Mr. Nilesh Gupta has proven time and again that there is no better man to take the Company’s legacy forward into a promising future.

Following the footsteps of his father and brother, Mr. Ashish Gupta brought with him modern day insights and ideas to help Vijay Sales adapt to the forever-evolving retail scenario and usher the company to a new-age.

A thoroughly people’s person, Mr. Ashish Gupta brings with him an affable and dynamic persona that helps him reach out easily and run the operations effectively. His retail background helps him to understand the market and his risk-taking abilities and out-of-the-box perspectives are both respected and appreciated throughout the Company.

Ably guided by his father and brother, Ashish Gupta is one of the pillars of an empire that is trusted by millions.

Director

Mr. Karan Gupta is a 2018 BSB-finance graduate from Kelley School of Business, Indiana University (USA). Karan joined his family business Vijay Sales in 2019 after gaining on-ground experience at Vijay Sales stores.

Even though the company already had an existing E-Commerce website www.vijaysales.com, post the pandemic Mr. Karan wanted to intelligently capitalize its offline brand value and the age old legacy to help loyal customers shop from anywhere and anytime. Going further, he envisions making Vijay Sales a successful omni-channel retailer with help of the company’s robust team of approx. 4000 members.

Today, after more than five decades of successful operations, Vijay Sales has become a trusted name synonymous with quality electronic goods. We have grown from one showroom into a chain of showrooms across the western region in prominent locations of Mumbai, Pune, Surat, and Ahmedabad, as well as in Baroda. In the northern region, we have expanded into Delhi, Haryana, and Noida, and in the southern region, we are present in Hyderabad, Vijayawada, and Warangal. Each showroom is aesthetically designed as well conveniently located, catering to customers of all budgets and preferences.

Vijay Sales has always been firm believer in servicing customer needs and providing efficient post-sales services. Our customer-focused policies, combined with an intuitive understanding of emerging markets, have led Vijay Sales from strength to strength. Our Story

1967

The journey began in 1967 with a small electronics showroom in Mahim. It all started with just retailing sewing machines, fans and transistors.

Black and white televisions added in Matunga store.

Company got registered

1982

The market boom around the year 1982, when color television was introduced in India, was a significant time for Vijay Sales.

1986

Vijay Sales opened its first branch in Bandra, buying a 600 sq ft space to set up shop.

1994

Big stores were opened, one in Shivaji Park (700 sq ft) and the second in Sion (1,500 sq ft).

2006

Vijay Sales was the first to introduce the display concept to customers in Mumbai. The business increased and by 2006-07, the Guptas owned 8-10 stores in Mumbai.

2007

Actual growth started after 2007. We expanded to Pune, Surat, Delhi and Ahmedabad, opening new stores in each city.
